As one of YFM’s most recognisable voices and a cultural commentator with a reach that extends far beyond radio, Teboho Caddy Tsotetsi occupies a unique position in the South African media landscape. He is simultaneously a taste-maker and a mirror.

“I’ve always seen my role as a connector,” he says, speaking from the YFM studios in Sandton. “My job is to find the people and stories and sounds that deserve to be heard, and to create the bridge between them and the audience.”

Over the years, that bridge has facilitated some of South African music’s most significant moments. Artists who were unknown before a play on YFM have gone on to define the country’s musical landscape.
