South African producer, DJ and music entrepreneur Oskido will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32).

The ceremony takes place at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West on Saturday, 15 August 2026, with the awards sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation.

The honour recognises Oskido’s long-standing influence on South African music. Across a career spanning decades, he has become a defining force as a producer, DJ, label executive, entrepreneur and cultural figure, helping shape the sound, business and future of the local music industry.

His latest recognition follows the RiSA Chairperson’s Award, which he received at SAMA30 for his contribution to South African music and culture.

Oskido now joins a select group of music legends whose enduring work and impact have earned them the SAMAs’ Lifetime Achievement Award.

SAMA spokesperson Unati Gwija said the award is intended to honour artists and industry figures whose work has influenced the country’s cultural landscape and inspired future generations.

“The Lifetime Achievement Award is more than a recognition of longevity; it is a celebration of those whose artistry has shaped the soundtrack of our nation, inspired generations and paved the way for the next wave of South African talent,” said Gwija.

“It reminds us of the importance of honouring our cultural architects while they are still with us to witness the impact of their life’s work.”

SAMA32 will bring together established artists, emerging talent, industry leaders and music fans at Sun City, while also placing the North West Province in the spotlight as a music, culture and tourism destination.

Gwija said the event’s impact extends beyond the awards stage, supporting local tourism, hospitality, small businesses, creatives and entrepreneurs.

“By bringing together iconic artists, emerging talent, industry leaders and thousands of music lovers from across the country and beyond, the festival stimulates tourism, boosts local economic activity and creates meaningful opportunities for small businesses, creatives, entrepreneurs and the hospitality sector,” she said.

The 2026 SAMAs are supported by partners including the Motsepe Foundation, RiSA, SABC, SA Tourism, SAMRO, SAMPRA, CAPASSO and several North West provincial departments.
