The 11th Floor is closing out winter with a one-night wine pairing dinner in Bedfordview, bringing together a six-course menu by Executive Chef Kyle Marshall and a curated selection of Bruce Jack Wines.
Taking place on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, the dinner promises a considered food and wine experience high above the Johannesburg skyline. The restaurant, located in the Alpha Building on Bradford Road, is known for its elevated setting, city views and refined dining approach.
A six-course menu guided by wine
For this special dinner, Chef Kyle Marshall and Head Sommelier Keize Mumba developed the food around the selected wines, allowing each bottle’s flavour, texture and depth to influence the menu.
“When we plan these evenings, we taste the wines first and allow them to guide the menu,” says Marshall. “Sometimes a wine takes a dish in a direction we did not expect, and that is what makes the process exciting for us.”
The evening starts with a welcome pour of Bruce Jack “Ghost in the Machine” Sauvignon Blanc, followed by an oyster course with gremolata and pear citrus salsa.
Guests will then enjoy smoked salmon with charred lemon and whipped feta, paired with Marmalade Invader Skin Contact Chenin Blanc. A roasted lamb rack, served with Bruce Jack Reserve Pinotage, follows as the menu moves into richer seasonal flavours.
A wine sorbet with forest berry foam, paired with The Drift Estate Movable Feast, creates a refreshing pause before the final savoury course, a deconstructed beef Wellington paired with Bruce Jack “The Epic Journey”.
The dinner concludes with lychee and coral cake, served with Bruce Jack “Bumble Bee” Moscato.
Dining above the city
The 11th Floor’s location on the 11th level of the Alpha Building adds to the atmosphere of the evening. Guests can expect panoramic views across Bedfordview and Johannesburg as the city shifts from daylight into evening.
The dinner is priced at R1,250 per person, including the six-course menu and wine pairing. Seating is limited, and advance reservations are recommended.
