On Sunday, January 29th, 2023, singer-songwriter Alek Blak hosted the launch event of his highly anticipated debut EP “Moment” at Vernacular Lounge in Johannesburg. The event included a live performance of the new tracks and a Q&A session with Actor Spaces Founder Ayanda Sithebe.
“I’ve had this music with me for about a year and it was an incredible experience getting to finally perform the songs all together,” Alek says. “It was a surreal moment watching the audience sing along to the songs. I’m feeling extremely grateful and I’m excited for the journey that this music is going to take me on.”
Alek Blak’s Moment EP is full of rich emotion, with a soulful voice that brings a powerful message to life. The intimate setting highlighted the power of Alek Blak’s music, while the arrival of over 50 guests dressed in earth tones made it feel like a fashion affair as well.
This collection of tracks is a reflection of Alek’s personal journey and the revelations he’s had along the way. Through his music, he hopes to inspire listeners to live boldly, embrace each moment of joy and step out of doubt.
“I’m so excited to finally be able to share this body of work,” says Alek. “It’s been a tumultuous couple of years, and I hope the music brings a sense of newness and replenishment for this new season we’re all stepping into.”
