Emirates has always operated at the intersection of aviation and aspiration, and the launch of its retrofitted Boeing 777 on the Johannesburg route represents the airline’s clearest statement yet about where it sees the future of premium travel.

The retrofitted aircraft features a completely reimagined First Class product. First Class passengers board directly from the jetbridge into a private suite with a floor-to-ceiling sliding door. The seat converts to a fully flat bed measuring 203cm in length. The entertainment system — a 32-inch 4K screen — rivals any home cinema installation.

“The investment in this retrofit reflects our commitment to the South Africa market. Johannesburg is one of our most important routes globally, and our passengers deserve the very best of what Emirates can offer.”
