The stage is set. The wait is over. The music world is about to witness an electrifying fusion of talent, culture, and creativity. One Groove has collaborated with the Riky Rick Foundation. They have also partnered with AUTOR, Nirox Foundation, Koda Kultur, and the Danish Foreign and Cultural Ministries. They have unveiled the 14 artists selected for the highly anticipated 2025 AmaGroove Residency. This groundbreaking initiative brings together seven artists from South Africa. It also brings together seven artists from Denmark. They will participate in an unforgettable week of co-creation. This occurs at the Kromdraai Impact and Co-Creativity Hub in the Cradle of Humankind.
From April 26th to May 3rd, these emerging musicians, songwriters, and producers will dive into a transformative experience. This experience is designed to push boundaries. It also fosters artistic growth. The residency promises a dynamic blend of immersive writing sessions, panel discussions, mentorship opportunities, and industry exposure. It’s not just about creating music—it’s about building connections that transcend borders and nurturing a global creative movement.
The chosen artists represent a kaleidoscope of talent and vision. From South Africa: Ivee Soul, Miči, Day 35, Baby S.O.N, Umzulu Phaqa, Craig Lucas, and Phonikz. From Denmark: Nikolaj Pellegrini, TMI Tammi, Elijah Kashmir, Theresa Rex, Zania, Elijah Okello, and Karen Mukupa. Each artist brings their unique sound and perspective to this collaborative melting pot.
The AmaGroove Residency isn’t just a program; it’s a movement that celebrates diversity across gender identities, genres, and geographies. Last year’s edition birthed 20 original tracks—proof that when creative minds unite across continents, the results are truly magical. One standout track from 2024 was “SAID I DO” by Chipego. The song is a soulful gem. It was crafted during a late-night studio session with Danish producer Mark Fosnæs.
As anticipation builds for this year’s residency, fans can already pre-save Chipego’s latest track “All Yours.” It features uBeyond, Elias Njovu & Pilfinger. This track is another masterpiece born from last year’s collaboration.
