The80Somethings host a Vodka Indaba
Vodka Indaba was established in 2014 by The80Somethings to create a space for vodka lovers to socialise while enjoying their favourite spirit.
The kick-start event took place in Soweto on 13 December 2014 themed Shades of Blue, which introduced Vodka Indaba to the public.
Since then, Black Addiction, Blends of Summer, A Hundred Reasons and Mardi Gras have taken place in different locations in and around Gauteng.
On 28 March 2015, Black Addiction was held in the Rooihuiskraal Terrain in Centurion. The event was an all-black affair with a marquee set up in an enclosed outside area and a hall for an indoor ambience. Cocktails were sold at the bar and cooler boxes were allowed at a cover charge.
As the spring fever began to fade out, Blends of Summer took place on 7 November 2015 at Zwartkops Lapa in Centurion. The theme aimed to embrace the vibes that come with summer. Patrons and cocktails sold at the bar were themed accordingly.
A Hundred Reasons followed on 2 April 2016. Held in Modderfontein, this edition was an all-red affair. The stand-out drink was the Vodka-infused slush.
The last event of 2016 was Mardi Gras on 26 November at the Midrange Driving Range. Patrons received a masquerade mask on arrival and neck beads after each purchase of a drink at the bar.
The 6th Vodka Indaba will be at The Midrange Driving Range (Midrand) on 25 March 2017, themed Black Addiction 2, following through on the most successful theme.
The event starts at 12pm and ends at 12am.
Tickets will be available at TicketPro for R100 (Early Bird) and R150 once early bird tickets have been sold out, or on event date.
An exhibition of brands will take place between 12pm and 4pm. Vodka brands are invited to showcase their products and engage with patrons.
Entertainment will begin from 12pm – 12am
The Vodka Bar will open from 12pm until 12am.
