AUDITION CALL FOR TALENTED YOUNG PERFORMERS FOR BORN TO PERFORM GALA CONCERT 2016

  
Following the success of the inaugural Born To Perform Gala Concert held in July 2015 which received rave reviews from all who attended, plans are well underway for the 2nd Born To Perform Gala Concert taking place on Friday 10 December 2016 at The Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City.

CALL FOR AUDITIONS!
Auditions are now open for children and young performers across the board, between the ages of 5 – 25 years to apply for an audition in order to be part of this glittering event. These auditions will be taking place during the course of February and March.

The Born To Perform team is looking for all young talented performers in any genre; singers, dancers and speciality acts – whether it be magicians, comedians – you name it – if you have a talent – APPLY! Bands are also welcome.
Choirs and Dance Schools are also encouraged to get in touch should they be interested in being featured in the show.
  

How to apply?
Make a short video or audio clip of your performance (cell phone is acceptable) and send it to info@borntoperform.co.za for consideration.
The Born To Perform team will then be in touch to arrange a convenient audition time for you, should you “make the cut” and earn and audition.

Successful applicants will be given a full professional theatre experience and may get the opportunity to collaborate with a local celebrity. Born To Perform then present their talent to directors/producers and agents in the industry at the Gala Event in December and beyond. 
Following the 2015 show, a Christmas Special show was produced for MNET and had offers for the talent to perform in various events. These included St Johns College’s “On The Night”, Holiday Inn Express Corporate, Gold Reef City Theme Park, Montecasino Bird Gardens, Yo-TV, Blue Couch on SABC to name only a few.
Various performers were offered management and talent agent deals.

Please note that whilst applications are encouraged nationwide, the event takes place in Johannesburg, and all travel arrangements would be for the applicant’s expense.
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON BORN TO PERFORM
Born To Perform was created by Matthew Marinus and Gemma Donnelly after seeing a huge need in SA for the development of professional opportunities for talented children and teens.
They strive to create Theatre, Music and Television platforms to showcase our amazing young SA talent. 
Originally coming from the UK, Gemma has been a major player in the musical theatre industry in SA for over 9 years before opening up an elite performing arts school (Stageworx School Of Performing Arts) in 2009.

Matthew is best known as the talented drummer for The Graeme Watkins Project, but most recently is fast making a name for himself as “Dream Canvas Productions” – video production company he has recently formed – where he produces music videos and EPK’s for SA artists.
