Prince of gospel Lundi Tyamara will raise the roof and bring down the Holy Spirit when he records his DVD in over 10 years.Lundi who made a name for himself with the monster hit Mphefumlo Wami some 18 years ago has had a sterling and colourful career as a singer and a performer. To date, he has released 14 studio albums and two Best of Lundi compilations.

His powerful and rousing vocals are a permanent feature on the gospel landscape. What is a gospel concert without Lundi?

Now fans will, for one night only, on August 29 celebrate, worship and praise with their musical hero at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg from 8pm.

This is Lundi’s second DVD and he promises to do things differently. He extends an invite to all his fans to descend on the Lyric Theatre to see and hear for themselves that he still has what it takes. “I can’t wait to get on stage and showcase my talent. I thank God that he keeps me evergreen,” he says.

Followers will see him reunite with Peter Mokoena on the popular Mphefumlo Wami and collaborators such as Sechaba Pali. They are guaranteed a good night out with amazing music and performance of spiritually fulfilling tracks like Bulelani kuJehova, Nomasekutheni and Modimo Ha A Le Teng. The line-up will also include new tracks from his latest album The New Testament which he has described as personal. He opened up new emotions that led to the inspiration to many of the songs. The album boasts hits such as Ithemba Lami Likuwe featuring Jaziel Brothers and Lefika Laka, a collaboration with Sechaba Pali.

One for surprises, Lundi says he has an ace up his sleeve that he will reveal on stage on the night.

“I feel good that this DVD is finally coming to fruition. As a recording artist I have been baffled that I only have one DVD after all these active years, I had wished to record more. I’m happy that at my new stable they allow me to do what I like,” Lundi comments.

The team working behind the scenes of the recording will include the best in the game such as Richard Mitchelle on sound and Pilot Films taking care of the visuals.

“It’s my wish that the auditorium will be full so that we can all witness the anointment. It’s going to be a beautiful night,” he says.

“I owe so much to my fans. They have supported me in bad and good times and I know they have been waiting for this DVD for too long.”

Lundi’s Live DVD recording is supported by Alex FM, Theta FM and Kasie FM.
