The continent’s premier champagne event goes national, debuting in Cape Town alongside Johannesburg to honour craft, culture and luxury in grand style

The 23rd Absa Champagne in Africa Festival returned in 2025. It proudly expanded its reach beyond Johannesburg. The festival made a debut edition in Cape Town. The festival is hosted at Summer Place in Sandton on 14 November. It follows at Norval Arts Foundation, Tokai on 22 November. The event celebrates authentic French champagne through a rich blend of artistry, storytelling, fashion, and gastronomy.

More than 50 French champagne houses were showcased with exclusive tastings. Contemporary African flair shone through collaborations with Chef Wandile Mabaso’s culinary expertise. There was also a bespoke fashion capsule by Rich Mnisi. Guests enjoyed an immersive experience. It reflected the fusion of French heritage and African sophistication. This experience was complemented by refined hospitality and live entertainment.

Absa, as the title sponsor, reinforced its commitment to luxury culture. They also promoted meaningful connections. They offered exclusive rewards and championed sustainability through cork recycling initiatives. The festival continues to grow as a cultural highlight. It transforms from an event into a cherished celebration of excellence. It is also a gathering of shared stories.
