Samsung recently sent me the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE to explore. Over the past three weeks, I had plenty of fun putting this device through its paces. The Flip 7 FE is an exciting addition to Samsung’s foldable lineup. It brings thoughtful upgrades. These upgrades make it stand out well beyond its Fan Edition label.

First off, this is a phone that feels premium in every fold and unfold. The sleek clamshell design fits perfectly in the pocket. The satisfying action of folding the device is a reminder of Samsung’s craftsmanship. The 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow is perfect for quick glances and notifications. Still, its 60Hz refresh rate sometimes contrasts with the buttery smooth main display. There were a few minor software quirks. These included the occasional prompt to unfold the phone for Samsung Wallet payments. However, these quirks were easy to overlook in the broader, smooth user experience.

Where the Flip 7 FE excels is in performance. The Exynos 2400 processor, combined with 8GB RAM, ensures the device handles intensive apps smoothly. Games like PUBG run effortlessly at high refresh rates. Battery life is another area Samsung improved. The 4,000mAh cell finally offers the endurance that earlier Fan Editions lacked. Whether gaming, multitasking, or just checking the cover screen for quick info, the phone delivered solid, all-day power.

Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the 50MP main camera, which captures vibrant, detailed shots and records smooth 4K video at 60fps. The clever FlexCam feature lets you take high-quality selfies using the main camera with the cover screen as a viewfinder. The final images are sharp and impressive. However, the live preview sometimes looks slightly processed. This causes a quirky shooting experience. I hope Samsung will refine this with a software update.

Ultimately, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE strikes a compelling balance between innovation and affordability. It has a refined design. The battery is dependable. Its strong performance is notable, and it includes a seven-year software commitment. It’s an excellent option for gamers. It’s also ideal for photographers and style-conscious users seeking the allure of a foldable phone without the flagship price tag. Samsung has crafted a device that’s practical and stylish. After three weeks with it, I can confidently recommend it as a standout in the growing foldable market.
