Milk + Cookies Music Week South Africa Unveils Exciting Lineup and Full Schedule for Inaugural Festival

Milk + Cookies Music Week South Africa has officially launched, bringing an exciting blend of music, culture, and technology to the vibrant cities of Cape Town and Johannesburg. The festival runs from January 3 to January 12, 2025, and features a star-studded lineup headlined by Grammy-winning artist Kaytranada.

This marks the first international edition of the Milk + Cookies Music Week, following a successful event in Atlanta that attracted over 10,000 attendees. The South African festival aims to celebrate local talent while fostering global collaborations, creating a dynamic cultural exchange. Key highlights include Kaytranada performing in both cities and a diverse range of events such as panels on music technology, exclusive merchandise pop-ups, yacht parties, and two major festivals in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The festivities kick off in Cape Town with multiple events leading up to the main festival. On January 3, “Music Tech House Presents: Dot Connector” will feature industry experts discussing the convergence of music and technology. The Milk + Cookies Festival on January 5 at The Ostrich will showcase performances by Kaytranada alongside local stars like DJ Kent and Zakes Bantwini. An exclusive after-party featuring Kaytranada at Old Biscuit Mill will wrap up the Cape Town leg of the festival.

Johannesburg takes center stage with a series of exciting events from January 9 to January 12. The Royale Mixer on January 9 is a private dinner for key figures in music and fashion. The Pre-Kay Vinyl Party on January 10 will gather vinyl enthusiasts for a celebration of rare grooves. The Milk + Cookies Festival on January 11 at Huddle Park will feature an impressive lineup including Kitty Cash and DJ Lag B2B Thakzin. An intimate DJ set by Kaytranada at Truth’s Terrace will keep the energy alive into the night. Closing out the festival on January 12 is another installment of “Music Tech House Presents: Dot Connector,” which will focus on discussions about the future of music in Africa.
