Step things up with dance, music, art, and fashion at the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival Powered by LottoStar. This vibrant celebration, taking place on 21 and 22 September 2024 at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, promises to elevate the festival experience with an exciting lineup of performances and creative showcases.
The Channel O Dance Stage will be a focal point of the festival, featuring an impressive roster of DJs including Heavy K, Kent, Kabza De Small, PH, and Shimza, alongside other top local acts. This year marks the 11th edition of the festival, which aims to celebrate 30 years of creative freedom through a dazzling fusion of art and fashion.
Festival-goers can look forward to performances by renowned artists such as Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, Thandiswa Mazwai, and Sjava on the Main Stage. The Channel O Dance Stage, curated by DJ PH and Shimza, will spotlight the freshest sounds of amapiano, gqom, hip-hop, Afro-tech, house, and pop, transforming the outdoor space into a lively party atmosphere.
The festival kicks off on Saturday at 1 PM with Drihanna, followed by Shilly Mingz, DJs PH and Venom, and the infectious beats of Kabza De Small featuring Nkosazana Daughter and Mthunzi. As the evening progresses, DJ Kyotic will take the stage alongside rappers Sizwe Alakine and Focalistic, culminating in a power set from Heavy K and Nokwazi. The night will wrap up with DJs Dlala Thukzin and Mac Breezy.
Sunday promises to continue the high-energy vibe with Shamiso and Stoffela, followed by DBN Gogo’s electrifying Afro set. Deep house grooves will be provided by Darque, leading up to a performance by the legendary DJ Kent. As the sun sets, Shimza will showcase his global appeal, with the festival concluding with performances by Sun-El Musician and Mörda.
In addition to the music, the festival will feature the collaborative Art Meets Fashion retail platform in association with W&R SETA, celebrating 30 years of creative liberation under the theme “The Art of …” Attendees can expect a rich experience filled with fine art, fashion design, bespoke furniture, performance art, and storytelling. The immersive experience will include a sculpture garden, art exhibitions, fashion showcases, a design competition, and an open-air cinema.
Funeka Peppeta, the festival’s media director, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “This year we are going all out to produce an immersive explosion of creativity! We’re excited to present Art Meets Fashion: Delicious Edition, where fine art, fashion design, furniture design, storytelling, and performance art will connect generations in celebration of unparalleled creative expression in South Africa.”
