Black In My Day, is said to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane of how the comedian grew up and all the experiences that helped shape him.
The statement reads that it is a play on what life was like ‘back in the day’ as a black man and finding his feet through all those challenges. It’s reflective of life in the hood, or as I know it, ekasi and drawing a comparison to flourishing in the suburbs.
It’s no surprise, Mpho Popps has the ability to take real life situations and make them relatable and interesting enough to make you laugh. He combines his intellectual wit and plug on pop culture to create a world full of humor.

“My belief is that my talent and skill is not a show I put on but an embodiment of my true self.
