After completely selling out in November and December with many people having to be turned away disappointed, this classic acoustic duo will be back, by popular demand,at the quaint Sandton establishment, The Library at The Brazen Head<\/b> on <\/a>Thursday, 12 March<\/a><\/b> from 8pm<\/a>.<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n

Absinth\u00e8<\/b> <\/b>is the acoustic rock collaboration between two of the country’s finest powerhouse performers; Cito<\/b> and Paul E Flynn; <\/b>lead singers of WONDERboom and Sugardrive.  They have been teasing the South Africa audiences with very select shows from their group, Absinth\u00e8, over the past few years, taking them on an elaborate musical journey. <\/font><\/div>\n

<\/font><\/div>\n

Absinth\u00e8<\/b> perfectly embodies the spirit of the project with a simple concept. No originals, just covers<\/p>\n

Cito and Paul have taken an informal approach to some of their favourite songs from the last century. The duo is a laid-back fusion of two unique and diverse voices accompanied by both on acoustic guitars. Intended to charm those in an unplugged environment, Absinth\u00e8 has entertained music lovers with an awesome show of great alternative classics to contemporary favourites.<\/p>\n

Through jamming together, Cito and Paul found that they had similar taste in music. They thought it\u2019d be a unique concept to keep them busy and having fun interpreting mutually admired songs by their great legendary influences such as Joy Division, the Verve, Pixies, Placebo, House of Love, Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Johnny Cash, The Mission<\/b> and many others. Cito and Paul have chosen this format to pay tribute to a way of life, and some great music, with their own unique signature. <\/p>\n

Taken from their Double CD debut album “A Rendezvous at Nirvana”, 2012 saw the group release their long-awaited Music Video for the Joy Division hit, “Love Will Tear Us Apart” <\/b>to a great response and culminated in an MK Award Nomination last year. <\/font><\/div>\n

Entrance Fee is R50, and the performances kick off at 8pm<\/a><\/span><\/b> with Special Guest Recent Thoughts <\/b>opening the evening and adding their own unique flair to the evening. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

This family duo, made up of brother and sister Adrian and Meghan Holmes, forms part of The CoLab Network’s ongoing commitment to showcase budding talent wherever possible.<\/font><\/span><\/div>\n

Based in Bryanston, Johannesburg<\/b>, they enjoy experimenting with a contrast of melodic guitar and vocals with raw, poetic and thought-provoking lyrics. They consider their music to be theatrical and enjoy telling stories through it.<\/font><\/div>\n
