South African producer, DJ and music entrepreneur Oskido will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 32nd South African Music Awards (SAMA32).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony takes place at the Sun City Superbowl in the North West on Saturday, 15 August 2026, with the awards sponsored by the Motsepe Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The honour recognises Oskido\u2019s long-standing influence on South African music. Across a career spanning decades, he has become a defining force as a producer, DJ, label executive, entrepreneur and cultural figure, helping shape the sound, business and future of the local music industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His latest recognition follows the RiSA Chairperson\u2019s Award, which he received at SAMA30 for his contribution to South African music and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oskido now joins a select group of music legends whose enduring work and impact have earned them the SAMAs\u2019 Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SAMA spokesperson Unati Gwija said the award is intended to honour artists and industry figures whose work has influenced the country\u2019s cultural landscape and inspired future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Lifetime Achievement Award is more than a recognition of longevity; it is a celebration of those whose artistry has shaped the soundtrack of our nation, inspired generations and paved the way for the next wave of South African talent,\u201d said Gwija.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt reminds us of the importance of honouring our cultural architects while they are still with us to witness the impact of their life\u2019s work.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

SAMA32 will bring together established artists, emerging talent, industry leaders and music fans at Sun City, while also placing the North West Province in the spotlight as a music, culture and tourism destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gwija said the event\u2019s impact extends beyond the awards stage, supporting local tourism, hospitality, small businesses, creatives and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2026 SAMAs are supported by partners including the Motsepe Foundation, RiSA, SABC, SA Tourism, SAMRO, SAMPRA, CAPASSO and several North West provincial departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
