Her new EP,&nbsp;<em>While You Wait<\/em>, marks a meaningful comeback for the artist, who is reintroducing herself to listeners with more perspective, more honesty, and a sound that reflects the woman she has become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Born Bathabise Vokwana and known to many as Thabsie, the multifaceted musician, entrepreneur and digital content creator has stepped back into the music space with a surprise release that arrives under her independent label, Song Bird Entertainment. The project leans into the emotional roller coaster of romantic relationships, capturing the push and pull that so many listeners will recognise in their own lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Musically, the EP offers an R&amp;B-led listening experience that feels layered with nostalgia and intention. It also features interpolations from early 2000s and local house classics, including Harrison Crump\u2019s \u201cOnce Again,\u201d Mina Nawe\u2019s \u201cWhere I Should Be,\u201d and DJ Tira\u2019s \u201cWon\u2019t Let Go.\u201d These references add depth to the project, connecting Thabsie\u2019s contemporary sound to musical memories that have long lived in the South African and broader African sonic landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the project\u2019s standout moments is the opening track, \u201cGood Time,\u201d which features award-winning Hip-Hop favourite Emtee as a surprise guest feature. The collaboration adds another layer of anticipation to an EP that already feels like a statement of intent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Thabsie, this return is more than just a musical release \u2014 it is a personal chapter. It speaks to independence, creative ownership and the decision to do things on her own terms.
