The Challenge aims to improve problem-solving and critical thinking skills for learners in Grades four to seven (Grades 4 -7).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following a successful 2020 that saw over 1000 schools and +- 90&nbsp;000 learners from all over&nbsp; the country participating in the Challenge, this year the NESTL\u00c9 NESPRAY South African Mathematics Challenge hopes schools will register as many learners as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Schools are encouraged to enter this fun and exciting way of learning mathematics in order to empower learners in Grades 4 &#8211; 7 to become independent, creative, and critical thinkers who are able to interpret &amp; critically analyse everyday situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Challenge which commenced in 1977 has contributed towards improving the quality of mathematics results for many primary schools, including 2020\u2019s award recipients:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>School with most entries \u2013&nbsp;Beaumont Primary School (Western Cape)<\/li><li>Top overall performing school \u2013&nbsp;Sweet Valley Primary School (Western Cape)<\/li><li>Top performing new school \u2013&nbsp;Abana Primary School (North-West)<\/li><li>Top performing Quintile 1 school \u2013&nbsp;Mokgwathi Primary School (Limpopo)<\/li><li>Top performing Quintile 2 school \u2013&nbsp;Nyanda Primary School (KZN)<\/li><li>Top performing Quintile 3 school \u2013&nbsp;Imbaliyethu Primary School&nbsp;(KZN)<\/li><li>Top performing Quintile 4 school \u2013&nbsp;Laerskool Die Poort (Gauteng)<\/li><li>Top performing Quintile 5 school \u2013&nbsp;Sweet Valley Primary School (Western Cape)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why Should Your School Enter?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The NESTL\u00c9 NESPRAY South African Mathematics Challenge is recognized as one of the best vehicles to promote the importance of Mathematics at primary school level.&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Challenge is endorsed by the Department of Basic Education as a national competition.<\/li><li>The participation will result in improving learner\u2019s mathematical knowledge and understanding of problem-solving concepts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How To Enter:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For entries into the NESTL\u00c9 NESPRAY South African Mathematics Challenge, schools may email Thabo at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:ramaboeat@samf.ac.za\">ramaboeat@samf.ac.za<\/a>&nbsp;or Patrick at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:rasehwetep@samf.ac.za\">rasehwetep@samf.ac.za<\/a>to request an entry form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Closing Date:&nbsp;<a href=\"outlook-data-detector:\/\/11\">05 March 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NESTL\u00c9 NESPRAY calls on all primary schools to register in the annual NESTL\u00c9 NESPRAY South African Mathematics Challenge from now&nbsp;until March, 05, 2021.
