The new Old Khaki autumn/winter range will be available in stores and online in April. This year it’s all about retro sport and modern heritage. Expect a fresh new take on urban-adapted wardrobe staples that can take you from inner-city outings and wintery walks, to a rip-roaring road trip in a sleekvintage car without missing a beat.

Bring it on boys

Setting the stage for a laid-back winter, the AW19 Old Khaki men’s collection references back to the heydays of the 70s and 80s, with plenty of authentic modern sensibility in the mix. Contemporary and distinctive, this season’s colour palette features ochre, olive, burgundy, burnt orange and navy, underpinned by neutrals and earth tones. On the sporty end, red, cobalt, yellow, emerald and navy run the show.

Flannel checks and corduroy shirts are big, while jackets have gone sporty into nylons and poly across all styles from puffersto parkas and windbreakers. Look out for colour-blocking in the windbreaker and puffer styles, as well as sleeveless and long-sleeve non-down puffers in key fashion colours. On the denim front, the Old Khaki man can look forward to a variety of authentic washes, from greys and blacks to light powder blue; as well as a printed denim shirt and a denim jacket with a Sherpa collar.

An expansion of the core V-neck and crew-neck knitwear range sees the inclusion of colour-blocking, alongside various versions of stripes, and fresh new cable- and stitch design. Sweats also make a statement with side-stripe detail and new branding techniques in a wide variety of colours. The season’s collection is all about texture in fabrics and in layering, withrich, bold colours that allow the Old Khaki man to choose his own adventure wherever (he goes).

Go get it girl

The AW19 ladieswear range mixes urban casual items with contemporary interpretations of iconic 70s and 80ssilhouettes. The season begins with a bold palette of cream, rust and emerald on the heritage front; moving onto navy, grey and ochre with a touch of red in the sporting arena.

The Old Khaki woman is spoiled for choice when it comes to showstopper pieces this season. Think windowpane check jumpsuits, furry jackets in bomber- and longer-length silhouettes, branded sweat tops and a paired track suit in the most heavenly fabrication. Corduroy lives across jackets, pants and skirts, and the winter maxi dress collection is ready to sweep you off your feet. Knitwear has also kicked it up a notch with animal prints, applique call-out branding, roll necks in rich winter hues and colour-blocking in the season’s hottest pop colours.

Shall we talk denim? Alongside the core range of Old Khaki skinny and straight-leg styles, a new collection of silhouettes is ready to take centre stage. The standouts being a pinstripe mom jean and a skinny-fit black dungaree. Denim has gone slightly cleaner for winter, with elevated fabrications addingsome lustre to the occasion in washes ranging from grey to black in light, mid and vintage; and detailing like rip & repair on select items. Two denim jackets round out the offering – a classic mid-wash trucker and an oversized grey trucker, perfect for both winter and transitional layering.

Bust a move

The Old Khaki SS19 shoe game is strong. The men’s range goes youthful and on-trend with a focus on sneakers across multiple silhouettes, as well as a refined range of boots featuring key fashion styles that provide the Old Khaki man with comfort, quality and versatility.

The newly expanded sneaker collection ranges from canvas with toffee soles and leather low tops, to leather- and Sherpa-lined high tops, retro synthetic sneakers, and knit sneakers with memory foam socks and lightweight soles. Boots, on the other hand, are available in all the must-have classic silhouettes, as well as statement pairs that draw inspiration from hiking and outdoor lifestyle genres. Genuine leather is standard across all categories, with vegan-friendly materialsavailable as well.

Ladies, step right up. This season you can chase the horizon in a range of sneakers that reimagine style, trend and versatility; and boots that incorporate inspired detailing like cut-out elements, lacing, soft volume and chunky outsoles.

Sneakers continue to dominate the footwear scene, and this season the Old Khaki woman can step out in everything from croc print and houndstooth, to platforms and bejewelled dazzlers. Look out for the Tori high-top in ochre, the Lizzy platform, and the Carter white sneaker with a toffee outsole. As for boots, the season’s focus is warm and lined with a chunky outsole. Check out the Jeannie chunky gusset boot, the versatile Carly ankle boot and the Melissa with its edgy cut-outs.

Daring detail

As always, the Old Khaki man and woman will have everything they need to round off their looks with daring detail.

Ladies’ scarves have been expanded into a beautiful selectionof warm-handle versions in plains, checks and colour-blocking, as well as smaller (90 x 90cm) printed poly squares in everything from floral prints and dots, to plains, checks and stripes – ideal as neckerchiefs or for accessorising handbags or hair. On the menswear side, expect different textures from a knit and print perspective across key winter colours, in different weights to suit every occasion.

Heads up! Beanies are still a wintertime staple for both men and women, with peaks not far behind. The Old Khaki woman can look forward to a beautiful collection of beanies with plenty of pretty pompoms; peaks in interesting fabrications like corduroy and velvet; as well as the return of the poor boy and a fun new range of headbands in everything from prints and plains to knitted chenille. On the men’s side, the classic ribbed, branded beanie will be available in all key winter colours, with a strong continuation of the established branded peak offering as well.

As for bags, there’s plenty to be excited about. On the ladies’ side, the collection builds on key silhouettes in new colours with touches of sizzle coming through in the round shape, whip-stitched details, as well as the introduction of fabrications such as corduroy and suede in navy, yellow and rust, in the smalls offering. Oh and did we mention the leather belt bag is back? Gents can still expect to find the ultimate genuine leather wallet, as well as key leather shapes such as the laptop bag, backpack and weekender.

The watch collection that was introduced in summer will be built on in selected stores and the core offering of men’s and ladies’ underwear is also still available in a range of must-have fabrics and silhouettes.
